Single Events

The Village Hall is available to hire for many different events.

For example:

  • Children's parties (special hire rate available),
  • Teenage and adult parties (ONLY FROM RESIDENTS IN BARNSTON),
  • Fun days,
  • Conferences,
  • Wedding receptions
  • Sales & auctions
  • Public & private meetings, and fundraising events

If your type of event is not listed, please contact us to see if we can accommodate you.

If you have not already done so, we have an online diary so you can confirm the availability of the hall (this is updated regularly).

We believe in making the booking process as easy as possible so we welcome any feedback you can give. If you have recently hired the hall and would like to fill in a few questions you will be sent a link following your hire period.

It is useful when contacting the booking clerk if you can have the following information to hand:

  • Your full name
  • Your address and postcode
  • Your contact numbers
  • Your email addresses
  • Your hire date, start and finish times
  • Your alternative hire date, start and finish times
  • The type of function (example; Childs Party, Meeting or Sale)
  • If you will be selling alcohol
  • Any other details you feel we need to know (see our FAQ page for more details)

Please bear in mind the phone is not manned all the time and there is an answer-phone available at other times. Please leave a message and we will return your call as soon as possible, usually within 48 hours.

Selling Alcohol

If you are planning to sell alcohol at your event you will need to have a TENS notice in place to cover this. If you intend to do this you need to inform the booking clerk at the earliest moment so that they can advise you on the procedure and cost. Please be aware that if you are booking the hall three weeks or less before your event you will have missed the council application period so a TENS notice will not be available.
